This modest offering from Brad Barr of The Barr Brothers on Remembrance/Veteran’s Day is, in his words, “not a patriotic song, not a protest song, just a lament on how the simple things in life we take for granted every day have been, and continue to be, threatened and stripped away from others by the act of war. Its a soldier’s story here, but it could be anybody’s story. I feel deeply sorry for anyone who has had to endure the consequences of war, especially the innocents.”

BBC Scotland “Another Country” Session

Back in September, we were rolling through Glasgow and stopped by the BBC Scotland headquarters to record a couple songs for their show Another Country and chat with host Ricky Ross. Here is a version of “Who’s Gonna Shoe Your Pretty Little Feet?” by Woody Guthrie that we decided to include in the recording. Also check out “Begger in the Morning”. Thanks for the good memories, Ricky and the whole team at Another Country.

Like a Rolling Stone!

Hear our version of “Like a Rolling Stone” by Bob Dylan featuring our friend Daniel Lefkowitz of Futur Primitif  at the very end of End Of The Road Festival 2013. Amazing to share the stage with you Daniel!

Thank you Canada!

We are so honoured to be nominated for a JUNO for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. Tickled to be standing next to Bahamas, Kathleen Edwards, Serena Ryder and Royal Wood.

Thank you Canada!

It’s a bit of a dream-come-true for us to be playing our first show in Iceland, a place we’ve revered for years not just for the natural beauty and fermented shark, but for the amazing Icelandic musicians and people that we’ve had the joy of encountering over the years. This show is part of the Iceland Airwaves festival which features some truly sublime artists this year such as Sigur Ros and Nico Muhly.  We’ll play at Harpa Norourljos in Reykjavik on November 3rd, or “the fancy hall” as one friend told us.

On November 17, 2012 we will be playing a special show in Providence, RI with our dear friends The Low Anthem. The Low Anthem have been working together with the historic Columbus Theatre to reopen the doors of this beautiful concert hall. Come celebrate the grand reopening with us and several of RI’s best. What Cheer, Netop!

Hello Friends and welcome to our newly refurbished webpage. We’re gonna do our best to keep it updated and fresh. We hope you have yourselves a good time looking around. Looking forward to seeing you out there in the real world soon

Happy Anniversary to us!!

Our album is 1 year old today!  It’s been an incredible adventure that’s brought us to some truly wonderful places and people.  Big and small, near and far.  Bustling city streets and wide, windswept landscapes.  The only constant has been moving and music.  We’ve made some serious tracks and played 127 shows!  Thanks to all who have shared a moment or two with us in the last year.  To celebrate we’d like to offer 127 of (mostly) Sarah’s pics from our life on the road.  Enjoy!

Thanks to all of you who came out to our sets at Pickathon!  This picture was taken during our sunset show on the Wood Stage. It’s hard to imagine a better setting for a show.

Thank you Montreal, Quebec City, Winnipeg and Vancouver!
